Spanking advice

Today Eli got a slash in school - not a good thing.  On the way home he advised me that he only needed one lick with the paddle. One lick would make him do better, but two, he said, would just make him angry. I agreed to just one lick.  Then Eli informed me that a gentle lick would make him mind, but a hard one would make him angry. I did not agree to this part of the deal.
